Honoring Newark’s and La Casa de Don Pedro’s unsung heroes throughout this unprecedented pandemic.
Complete with guest speakers, handcrafted video segments, musical performances, and a virtual wine and cheese tasting, La Casa en su Casa is La Casa de Don Pedro’s annual fundraiser you can enjoy from the comfort of your home.
Hank Zona of The Grapes Unwrapped will lead the storytelling of La Casa en su Casa’s honorees. You’ll enjoy presentations while Hank discusses the evening’s hand-selected wines from Casa d’Paco’s own label, an emerging Spanish restaurant in Newark with owner and founder, Angel Leston. You’ll enjoy the wine with perfectly paired cheeses and charcuterie from Maplewood Wheelhouse, veteran cheese professional Aaron Kirtz’s specialty boutique.
Marcy DePina, Newark artist, DJ, executive director and producer will join Hank and Angel as co-host.
This past year has been like no other. While it’s been full of tragedy and uncertainty, stories that demonstrate people going above and beyond have shined through the darkness. These “silver linings” show the true depth of humanity and remind us of what we can achieve when we do it together.

Jessica Viera & La Casa's In-Person Study Hall Child Care Team
La
Casa’s dedicated team of in-person childcare professionals have created
a safe space for children to attend virtual schooling from the comfort
of our well-equipped community center.
Tune
in to hear Youth and Family Center Manager Jessica Viera discuss the
importance of La Casa's study hall child care program. She'll share the
ways her team is going above and beyond to make sure children haven't
missed a beat during virtual schooling for Newark's youngest and
brightest pupils.
Dante Lara & La Casa's Community Engagement Team
La
Casa’s lean but resilient team have adapted their outreach efforts,
always willing to do what is needed. From engaging the community on
census outreach and providing small business support to distributing
food and other essential supplies, they do it all.
Take
a stroll through the Lower Broadway neighborhood with Dante Lara, La
Casa's Community and Economic Development Division Coordinator and
HUD-Certified Housing Counselor. He will break down just how integral La
Casa is to the community that we've called home for almost 50 years.

Free Delivery to Essex County residents. Delivery will arrive by June 16. La Casa will email you with a delivery window, For those outside of Essex County, you will be emailed a choice of two locations for pick up - either in Maplewood or Newark.
