Held in the Heart of Newark’s Lower Broadway neighborhood, Festival de la Familia celebrates Newark’s vibrant diversity and the strength of community with a special Back to School theme. The free festival will take place from 12pm-5pm on Broadway between Bloomfield Place & Broad Street in Newark, NJ.
Last year, Festival de la Familia’s Back to School theme started “Project Backpack”. “Project Backpack” is returning again in 2019 where La Casa de Don Pedro’s is seeking help to gather donations of 500 backpacks and school supplies to be distributed to Newark children at our upcoming 12th Annual Festival de la Familia on August 18th, 2019. "Project Backpack" aims to make the coming 2019/2020 school year a memorable one by ensuring that Newark children return to school ready to succeed and on the path toward an enriching education!
